We have received numerous comments and questions following a local newspaper article about the Livesey Arms so wanted to clarify the situation with all of our loyal customers and friends.
We purchased the Livesey Arms business 9 years ago and have worked extremely hard as a team build it into the thriving restaurant and pub business it is today. We have many loyal customers who we are now lucky enough to also call good friends and are very grateful and appreciative of everyone’s support. Unfortunately we are not as young as we used to be! As you will appreciate hospitality is a very demanding business with a lot of hard graft behind the scenes in addition to the day to day running of the establishment. At some point we want to retire or at least to be able to take things a bit slower! That being said we want to make sure we pass the business on as a going concern to someone who can maintain the high standards you have all come to appreciate. We have asked a selling agent if they would assist us in finding someone suitable hence the article in the local newspaper which seems to have generated a lot of concern about us closing.
We want to clarify it is not our intention to close the business at any point, we will continue to operate as normal for the foreseeable future. We are in no rush to go anywhere but need to start thinking ahead. If and when there is any actual news then we will make this public. In the meantime it’s very much business as usual! We are not going anywhere anytime soon!
